In the annual event of the Archive of Democracy
Tiempo de Transición
The president of the Pablo Iglesias Foundation, Alfonso Guerra, will participate on Wednesday November 30 in the annual event of the Archive of Democracy of the University of Alicante that takes place in the MUA. In addition to the traditional reading of the record of the Archive and the awards ceremony to this year's donors, during the event the exhibition entitled Tiempo de Transición. La construcción de la democracia en España (Transitional Time. Building democracy in Spain), organised by Pablo Iglesias Foundation in collaboration with the UA, will be formally opened. This event, which will start at 7 pm, will be chaired by the vice-chancellor of the UA, Ignacio Jiménez Raneda, and other public figures such as the president of the advisory board of the Archive of Democracy, José Beviá, the vice president of Extracurricular Activities, Josefina Bueno and the director of the MUA, Mauro Hernández.
The exhibition, which will be on show in the Sala Sempere exhibition room until February 23, carries out a historical journey through the transition period, from 1975 to 1982. Its aim is to offer a watchful and objective view about this period, "apart from paying a tribute to a generation that knew how to agree to basic rules of cohabitation. It was a time for consensus, of which facts were put on record in the hope that it was useful when building the future in a civilised way", they explain from Pablo Iglesias Foundation.
The exposition consists of more than 250 original exhibits between documentation, press, pictures, art, audiovisual material and period objects of this kind, some of them from the File of Democracy of the UA, with which the puzzle of what are considered the 30 key moments of Transition is completed.
Free entrance limited to the capacity of the room.
